Jingdezhen porcelain platter, Yung-Cheng period – China, Qing dynasty, 18th century

Height: 5,7 cm
Diameter: 29,5 cm

Clear and smooth transparent glaze all round. The plate-like platter (bowl) with its distinctive blue, white base is decorated on all visible surfaces.

The object was produced in the Ming style of the Yongle period. The elegantly refined, evenly distributed but loosely arranged tendrils and flower decorations of the early Ming period – as were popular again under the Qing dynasty from the K'ang-hsi era onwards.
