Our Kilims & Gabbehs collection showcases exceptional pieces, such as late 19th-century Kilims from the Saveh region created by the Khaladj tribes, and richly colored Gabbehs crafted by nomadic Qashqai weavers around Shiraz. Woven almost exclusively by women, these textiles embody both practical necessity and artistic expression. Their patterns were believed to protect nomadic families not only from the cold of the highlands, but also from evil spirits and unseen dangers of the journey.
Each textile in this collection is both decorative artifact and cultural document—woven with locally sourced wool, hand-dyed using traditional techniques, and shaped by generations of nomadic lineage.
